S12: Calculate and interpret confidence interval estimates for means
We will also work through the exercises below and take a checkpoint on Thursday.
Week 8 - 4/2/24 - 4/4/24
Just 1 more week until Spring Break. This week we will be focusing on the following Statistical Learning Objectives
S10: Calculate and interpret confidence interval estimates for proportions.
S11: Calculate and interpret confidence interval estimates for means
We will also work through the exercises below and take a checkpoint on Thursday.
Week 7 - 3/25/24 - 3/27/24
This week we will be focusing on the following Statistical Learning Objectives
S10: I can identify and use the binomial distribution to calculate probabilities and use them in applications.
S11: Identify and use the normal distribution to calculate probabilities and use in applications.
Week 6 - 3/19/24 - 3/21/24
This week we will be focusing on the following Statistical Learning Objectives
S8: I can calculate and interpret basic probabilities. Including: Calculate probabilities from a contingency table, including compound events (or/and) and conditional probabilities. Use probability to determine if a random event is unusual.
S9: Calculate and interpret the expected value of a discrete probability distribution.
We will also complete the Unit 1 project.
Week 5 - 3/12/24 - 3/14/24
This week we will be focusing on the following Statistical Learning Objectives
S6: Use measures of central tendency and variability to summarize, describe, and compare distributions.
We will also look back ad the past checkpoints and use them to complete the project.
Week 4 - 3/5/24 - 3/7/24
This week we will be focusing on the following Statistical Learning Objectives
S4: Students should be able to produce graphical displays and numerical summaries and interpret what graphs do and do not reveal.
S5: Use measures of central tendency and variability to summarize, describe, and compare distributions.
These are covered in Module 2, but we will refer back to them throughout the semester.
Week 3 - 2/27/24 - 2/29/24
This week we will be focusing on the following Statistical Learning Objectives
S4: Students should be able to produce graphical displays and numerical summaries and interpret what graphs do and do not reveal.
These are covered in Module 2, but we will refer back to them throughout the semester.
Week 2 - 2/20/24 - 2/22/24
This week we will complete module 1 which covers the 2 most typical types of studies we will encounter when exploring data and research.
Week 1 - 2/13/24 - 2/15/24
I will use this website as a blog to share important documents, links to class activities, and websites we'll be using this semester. This week we will be getting to know the basics of the class, some key terms, and start to explore how a sample can represent a population.
